Mechanism of action

Minute amount of silver ions dissolved in water from NOVARONAQ are inhibit the metabolic functions of bacterial enzyme and suppress their growth.

Effect

Relationship between silver elution concentration and antimicrobial activity

About 105 cfu/mL of bacteria and 0.5 g of Novaron AQ were added to 500 ml of normal bouillon medium diluted to 1/500, and the viable bacterial counts and silver ion concentration were measured after shaking at 25°C.
Excellent antimicrobial activity was observed with increasing silver ion concentration.

Examples of application

Application in washing water

Washed and dewatered 30g of NOVARONAQ-24 in a mesh bag and polyester fabric in an electric washing machine at the same time. Microbes from the surface of the polyester fabric are taken at 3 hours and 12 hours after washing and cultured on regular agarose gel medium.
