Negative thermal expansion filler ULTEA

ULTEA is negative thermal expansion filler made from zirconium phosphate. It has superior heat and chemical resistance and can effectively control thermal expansion when added to glass, resins, and other materials, improving heat resistance and preventing cracking.

Product Name

ULTEA

Features

Features

  • Exhibits negative thermal expansion characteristics over a wide temperature range (up to 800 ℃).
  • Offers high heat resistance and does not break down even when processed at high temperature (800 ℃).
  • Highly safe and contains no heavy metals that are toxic to the environment.

Effect

The coefficient of thermal expansion of the melt molded glass (P-type) mixed with ULTEA at 520 °C measured on thermomechanical analyzer (TMA) demonstrated the suppression of heat expansion. In addition, thermal expansion is suppressed when ULTEA is added to an epoxy-cured product (bisphenol + acid anhydride).

Effect

The shape of the melt molded product of glass (Bi-type) mixed with 20 vol% of ULTEA is as shown in the photo below.

Usage

Sealed glass (fluorescent tube, PDP, organic EL, etc.), adhesives, and more
